The wind phone

  T he  wind phone    is an unconnected telephone booth  in otshuchi , iwate perfecture , Japan, where visitors can hold one-way conversations with deceased loved ones. Initially created by garden designer Itaru Sasaki in 2010 to help him cope with his cousin's death, it was opened to the public in the following year after the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami  killed over 15,000 people in the Tohoku region . The wind phone has since received over 30,000 visitors.  When garden designer Sasaki lost his beloved cousin in 2010, he came up with a unique way to deal with his grief: telephone calls to the departed. He decided to build a white British-style telephone booth in his hilltop garden. The Mona Lisa has no eyebrows

Did Leonardo forget to draw them? A lot of people wonder why the Mona Lisa doesn’t have any eyebrows.  Some people say the Mona Lisa is an unfinished work.   Some people say Leonardo painted her with eyebrows, but they were erased over time.   Well, that mystery has now been solved thanks to an engineer called Pascal Cotte. The Mona Lisa when Leonardo painted her, she did indeed have eyebrows but that over time and over cleaning have eroded them to the point that they are no longer visible. Pascal,  an engineer who has been studying the Mona Lisa using highly detailed scans explained:      “If you look closely at Mona Lisa’s eye you can clearly see that the cracks around the eye have slightly disappeared, and that may be explained that one day a curator or restorer cleaned the eye, and cleaning the eye, probably removed the eyelashes and eyebrow,” he said.
